So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹. It was a public holiday though, a day we celebrate the heroes who fought for the independence of our country 🎊🎉.
Globally, the war in Gaza trending as an Israeli bomb destroyed an old church, people taking shelter there injured with 16 dead😭. That church called St Porphyrius is just 200 metres from the bombed Ahli baptist hospital where 470 people died in a bombing which both sides blamed each other🙀.
Also trending Al Quds hospital was told to evacuate immediately🙀. Palestinian red crescent says warnings were issued from Israeli forces to evacuate the hospital. A mission they said would be impossible so they won't evacuate.
Still in Gaza, Hamas have released two US captives for humanitarian reasons. The move came in response to Qatari mediation efforts 🎊. Hamas have said they wouldn't want to be seen as a terrorist group and that they were open to diplomacy💯. This as Qatar seems to be pushing for the freedom of all hostages thru negotiations.
Across the pond in the US, Biden was meeting with EU commission president. It seems Israel is under pressure from the west to delay ground invasion into Gaza. Let's hope the talks going on end in a ceasefire💯.
Still in the US, political shenanigans 😹 as republican lawmakers voted to remove Him Jordan as party's nominee for speaker of the house of representatives. The secret ballot was held after the Trump- backed congressman lost a third consecutive vote on the house floor this morning🙀.
