Hello everyone 👋,
TGIF 🍻🍷 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's Friday the 13th and am not spooked🤪😹; in fact the stepping has continued unabated. It's now that time of day to share some of the trending stories and also how my day has been. As always many thanks for stopping by and let's take it away 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. A nice short walk then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies at the shopping centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, the world's attention still in the middle east. Israel has told more than a million to leave north Gaza in 24 hrs as fears of ground operation rise🙀.
The Israeli defence minister has vowed to destroy Hamas and take them out of Gaza.
There's growing worry as it would be difficult to move the old and the severely sick on short notice. The UN is urging Israel to rescind the order saying it could turn a tragedy into a calamitous situation.
The Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas meeting sec of state Anthony Blinken likened the order to evacuate Palestinians as a second nakba🙀. The first one happened in 1948 when Israel was created.
Speaking of Blinken, he next went to Qatar where he had talks with Qatari PM regarding that on going war. He is scheduled to head to UAE, Saudi Arabia and then Egypt. Let's hope a ceasefire can be reached to cool things down.
Things remain tense, but let's wait and see how a ground invasion into Gaza would unfold. The 24 hour notice to 1.1 million people to move south still stands😿. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of Israeli troops, tanks and artillery on the edge of the Gaza strip🙀.
