Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. I know you have many other things to do, so am definitely grateful you stopped by. Let's proceed to take a look at how my day has been plus some of the day's trending stories. Here we go again 💨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighbourhood 🌲. A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze 🍃. Then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the city centre for some errands; nice sunny day as I made my way. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, otherwise a nice day.
Globally, the middle east still trending, 6,000 bombs in 6 days, lives lost, fear spreads as Israel pummels Gaza🙀. The Palestinian death toll has reached 1,417 with over 6,000 injured. A deadly humanitarian crisis brewing as water, electricity, food, fuel and medicines quickly running out. The people can't leave as all points of exit are closed🙀. Something's gotta give😿.
US secretary of state Anthony Blinken was in Israel meeting PM Netanyahu. He also met with American families Hamas killed or taken hostage. He will proceed to meet Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas in Jordan tomorrow. He will then head to Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia. Let's hope these meetings will come out with some sort of ceasefire💯.
Let's go to Europe, Ukraine trending as Russia launched a major offensive on the town of Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine🙀. Three battalions involving 2,000 troops and dozens of armoured vehicles as well as jets are on the ground😡.
Then France's interior minister has banned all pro Palestinian demonstrations in the country🙀. The move comes as European govts fear a rise in antisemitism triggered by the ongoing war. Today, German police broke up pro Palestinian demonstrations in Berlin too.
Across the pond in the US, senator Robert Menendez, who is already facing corruption charges has been accused of acting as a foreign agent of Egypt🙀. It is alleged that he and his wife provided sensitive US govt information that helped Egypt's govt. He has refused calls to resign though😹. Let's see how things will turn out.
