Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. As always glad you stopped by. Hopefully you have had or are having a great day💯. I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a peek into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. Come on, let's go 💨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before the evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. Meanwhile in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of crypto/twitter. let's dive into that next
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going.
Globally, the world's attention still on that ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
A fresh barrage of rockets that Hamas fired towards southern Israel have damaged buildings in Ashkelon including a hospital🙀. The army has confirmed that 1,200 Israelis killed and over 2,700 injured😭. Meanwhile a deal has been reached in Israel to form a unity govt as bombardment of Gaza goes on. There's also rumours of a ground invasion into Gaza by Israeli forces🙀.
Over in the Gaza strip the Israeli army is bombarding the area with air, naval and artillery strikes for the fifth day in a row🙀. The only power station in Gaza has run out of fuel leaving 2.3 million people without electricity. Some neighborhoods have been totally levelled. The phone and internet network is also not working😿.
The hospitals are overwhelmed with medicines and other supplies running out fast. The Palestinian health ministry has announced 1,100 dead and 5,000 injured 😭. With a total blockade things will get worse as no food, water, medicine is allowed in, on top of that no electricity🙀.
Also trending, president Zelensky of Ukraine made a surprise visit to NATO headquarters in Brussels😹. He is urging the military alliance to maintain its flow of weapons to his country for its war against Russia, even as much of the west turns it's attention to the brutal outbreak of violence in Israel.
Finally, US secretary of state Anthony Blinken is on his way to Israel and Jordan where he will meet senior officials, let's hope a ceasefire can be reached to end the violence and stop death and injuries💯.
