TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us yet again , I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for it, it's a blessing to be alive 💯. I thank you all for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get rolling 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. The sunshine and the fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies from the shopping centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹. Otherwise a quiet day.
On the continent, Niger trending as crowds protested outside the french military base demanding the troop withdrawal😹. France have agreed to remove them. Then polls have closed in parliamentary elections in Eswatini, Africa's last absolute monarchy. King Mswati the 3rd is the ultimate ruler. No political parties, MPs stand as individuals and some of them are directly picked by the King🙀.
Globally, Pakistan trending as 52 people were killed when a deranged suicide bomber blew himself in the middle of a big procession celebrating the birthday of prophet Muhammad. Then in another region another deranged person blew themselves up in a mosque killing 5 people🙀. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families 😭 and quick recovery to the injured💯.
Let's go to Europe, Sweden trending as the prime minister held emergency talks with the head of armed forces following a surge in fatal gang violence🙀. Things are getting a bit thick for police to handle on their own.
In the UK, a teenager has been arrested for deliberately felling a 200 year old iconic tree 🌲🙀. Silly boy😹, nowadays these kids never listen to anyone, they do as they wish😡.
Russia trending as president Putin instructed former Wagner group chief of staff to create volunteer units for war in Ukraine😹. Seems like Wagner group are coming back to the warzone.
Across the pond in the US, there's a looming govt shutdown and Congress needs to agree on a new funding bill. That legislation needs to be passed by 1 October🙀. That's why president Biden will remain in Washington DC this weekend working with leaders to avoid a shutdown. Some analysts saying a shutdown is inevitable🙀
Still in the US, sad news as the longest serving woman in the Senate, Diane Feinstein died aged 90😭, my sincere condolences but I feel that's a life worth celebrating, she achieved so much and paved the way for many others💯.
Finally, a man has been charged with the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur in a drive-by shooting. I wonder why it has taken so long.
