Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Sunday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for and as the day fades away, am raring to go with my stepping activities of the day including some of the trending stories I came across. It's the last Sunday of September, thank you for being here and let's get cracking 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. But it was a short walk. Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and cooking then the afternoon saw me go out walking in the hills. Next came the refreshing nap💤. I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some of the earlier videos and news.
I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk. Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, then celebrations as Eliud Kipchoge won the Berlin marathon for the fifth time🎊, congratulations to him🎉. Ethiopia giving us serious competition as they took the ladies title😹.
On the continent, Niger trending as the french have finally agreed to leave. France is to end it's military presence and also recall it's ambassador as the coup leaders and citizens had wanted😹.
A sad story from neighbouring Benin as 34 people were killedat a fuel depot after explosion🙀. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families 😭.
In Europe, Kosovo trending after standoff in the north ended after a day of deadly clashes. Kosovo police say one officer and 3 of about 30 attackers killed in shootouts🙀.
Not far off, Armenia trending as ethnic Armenians have began leaving Nagorno karabakh region after it fell into Azerbaijan's hands 🙀. Armenia welcoming everyone who comes through.
Across the pond in the US, the border city of Eagle Pass in Texas has declared a state of emergency after a rise in migrants crossing into the US from Mexico🙀. 800 military personnel have been deployed to help border guards against surge in crossings. Over 9,000 are crossing through per day mostly from Venezuela, Haiti and Honduras.
Finally, NASA capsule carrying asteroid samples has successfully touched down on earth. It landed in the Utah desert after a seven year mission. Osiris-Rex probe was launched in 2016 and collected samples from asteroid Bennu 3 years ago. It is said the samples will help scientist understand more about the universe and the transformations that have occured over millions of years💯. Interesting😹.
