Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Tuesday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Its been another ordinary day stepping it out. As bedtime approaches let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also share some of the day's trending stories. Here we go again 💨.
So just like yesterday, I started the day with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. A nice session and then I was back indoors for some resting and the usual house chores. It's been quite rainy the entire day even as I walked to the shopping centre in the afternoon as opposed to the sunny days we have been having lately.
I later had my usual nap and then woke up to some cooking and news. Next it was time for the sunset walk, that went well and I made it back home safe and sound. The rain has since calmed down. To finish off let's quickly look at the trending stories of the day.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
On the continent, Libya still trending after the devastating floods that caused two dams to burst🙀. The city of Derna saw the most destruction. The death toll has risen to 5,200 people and over 10,000 reported missing. it's an unprecedented catastrophe😿, the govt has declared three days of mourning. Turkey sent three planes with aid to help the situation.
Next is Morocco where the search and rescue operations were still underway in the remote areas of atlas mountains. With some roads still impassable, helicopters were dropping aid. The king visited some of the earthquake survivors in hospital in Marakesh and also donated blood. What a nice gesture.
Russia trending as north Korean leader Kim jong Un's train 🚆 has arrived in Russia. He was met by Russian officials and welcomed. In a few days he will be meeting Putin for probably supply of weapons🙀. The US have warned against any supply of weapons to Russia.
Speaking of the US, house speaker McCarthy, says impeachment inquiry will be opened into president Biden 🙀. He is said to have used his position and influence to help his son, Hunter in business dealings😹. Let's see how that goes.
Finally, Apple has unveiled it's new iPhone 15 that switches from proprietary lightning charging cables to USB-C following the EU changes. Apple the world's most valuable listed company made half it's $394 billion in sales last year from iphones. I wonder how much the new phone is, will google later for price and features 😹
