Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Sunday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. So glad that you stopped by yet again 👏. Am really grateful for this day and before it ends we will quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also share some of the day's trending news. You know how we do it daily, so let's get cracking 💨.
Just like yesterday, it was an early start with the fast paced morning session. I enjoyed the fresh morning breeze 🍃 as I brisk walked 👣 and jogged around the cloudy neighborhood. A short but enjoyable walk 💯.
Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and cooking then the afternoon saw me go out to the shopping centre for some fruits and veggies. Next came the refreshing nap💤. Then I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some of the earlier videos and news.
I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze. Just like yesterday, it's raining out there tonight.
Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going.
On the continent, Morocco still trending after that devastating earthquake😿. The death toll has surpassed 2,000 as rescuers race against time to find people trapped under the rubble in Marrakesh and other remote regions. A special Spanish military team is on the ground trying to help.
Let's go to Ukraine, Russia did the most last night, launching more than 30 kamikaze drones into Kyiv 🙀. Fortunately most of them were intercepted but falling debris caused some minor damages.
In Asia, Vietnam trending as US president Biden visited the country on a two day state visit. This as the US attempts to strengthen ties and expand its influence in Asia where China's grip is getting tighter😹.
Speaking of China, UK prime minister Rishi Sunak has raised concerns over alleged Chinese interference in the UK parliament. Sunak raised spying claims during a meeting with Chinese premier Li Qiang at the G20 summit in India. These Chinese, though, remember the spy weather balloon in the US😹.
Finally, àcross the pond, rival protests are being held in Chile's capital ahead of the 50th anniversary of a military coup that ousted the democratically elected president Salvador Allende and brought general Augusto Pinochet to power. Things got ugly as teargas and water canons were used to control the crowds🙀.
