Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. We are fast approaching September just one more day😹. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighbourhood 🌲. A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze 🍃. Then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the city centre for an errand. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, otherwise a nice day.
On the continent, Gabon trending as senior military leaders appeared on national tv claiming they had taken power🙀. Gabon just came from an election that Ali Bongo had been declared the winner. He had just started his third 7 year term but is now under house arrest😹.
The Bongo family have ruled Gabon since 1967🙀. The opposition had claimed the election was fraudulent and international observers were not allowed. Being poor and impoverished most people celebrated the military takeover. Let's wait and see the next steps of the military leaders.
Globally, Ukraine has launched it's biggest wave of missiles attack on Russia🙀. Targeting bases deep in Russia that are used to launch attacks. Russia hit back by sending drones aimed at the capital Kyiv.
Let's go across the pond, Chile trending as they commemorated the day of the disappeared. They have launched a search to find people who went missing during Augusto Pinochet's military rule. A deadly regime where thousands of people were killed😭.
In Asia, China trending as US commerce secretary ended her visit to the country. She has been meeting with officials to discuss trade between the US and China, signing agreements.
Finally in crazy weather, hurricane Idalia had been lashing western Florida with heavy rain and strong winds. Damages reported and power outages too. It's now moving to Georgia.
In the skies, we have the super blue 🌕 moon the second full moon this August. This phenomenon of two full moons in one month will happen again in 2037🙀.
