So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some errands done at the city centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, otherwise a quiet day.
On the continent, Niger trending as ECOWAS defence chiefs meeting in Accra said they are ready to go into Niger anytime an order will be issued. Adding that they had no time for endless talk🙀. Western powers and African countries have called for deposed president Mohamed Bazoum to be reinstated. Instead the junta leaders have charged him with treason😹.
Globally, Ukraine trending as the first vessel to leave Russian blocked port in the Black sea corridor, safely crossing through Turkey's Bosporus strait🎊.
In other news, the US has given approval for the Netherlands to deliver F-16s to Ukraine, that's a major gain for Ukraine and their counteroffensive efforts.
The UK trending as a nurse was found guilty of killing seven infants🙀. Hopefully she gets maximum sentencing for that heartless crime.
Across the pond in the US, president Biden is hosting the Japanese and south Korean leaders for a summit on Asia Pacific security. Summit unlikely to produce formal defence deal but leaders may agree on joint regional responsibility. The three countries are concerned by growing Chinese influence and north Korea missile tests😹.
Finally, in crazy weather, Yellowknife residents continued to leave by air, road as wildfire evacuations ramped up. More than 20 flights out of Canada's northwest territories are expected on Friday as wilfires rage🙀.
