Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get rolling 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. The sunshine and the fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some erands done at the city centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹.
On the continent, Niger trending as pro coup protesters rallied outside the French military base accusing France of interference in their country🙀. They are angry at ECOWAS who are getting ready for some sort of military intervention. Though Russia have warned that military intervention would destabilize the whole region.
Let's go to Europe, UK trending as health issues forced govt officials to remove refugees from the Bibby Stockholm barge. Bacteria discovered in the water supply can cause legionnaires disease, a serious lung infection🙀.
Meanwhile, trending in Ukraine, president Zelensky fired heads of military recruitment centres over corruption concerns🙀. 112 criminal cases have been opened, they will be tried for taking bribes.
Let's go across the pond in the US, people around the world are celebrating 50 years since hip hop emerged in New York. The birth of hip hop is credited to a DJ at a back to school party in 1973 in NY. I think there will be some sort of concert to celebrate with many stars performing later tonight.
Finally in crazy weather, firefighters continued to battle wild fires 🔥 on Maui island in Hawaii that has killed at least 58 people 🙀, my sincere condolences 😭.
11,000 people have been forced to leave their houses and holiday resorts on Maui island. Fires were fueled by dry vegetation and fanned by strong winds from hurricane Dora🙀. president Biden declared a major disaster and federal funds will be allocated to try ease the situation. All will be well💯.
