Happy Tuesday and a very warm welcome. Hopefully you are having or have had a great day this last day of February. I feel like this month has gone by very fast. Please keep reading 👓 as I let you in on how my day went including what's trending in the media streets. Thank you for stopping by and let's dive in💨.
So like always I had two major walking sessions. Starting with the fast paced morning session. It was a beautiful sunny morning 🌞 as I made my way around the neighborhood.
Then I was back indoors for some resting then a little bit of house chores here and there.
In the afternoon I had my usual refreshing nap 💤🛌. Then I got up later to some cooking and then a little bit of youtube and news.
Finally, the last walk in the beautiful evening sunset followed🌄🌅🌇. I did enjoy that wonderful breeze 🍃.
I went back out after 8pm after dinner as the internet went down.
So now let's look at what was trending in the media streets.
Locally the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going.
Over in Nigeria, vote counting still underway. Today the opposition parties called the whole process a sham and asked for results to be cancelled 🙀.
Globally, Ukraine trending as president Zelensky said fighting was extremely tense around the eastern city of Bakmut. Meanwhile Putin has said they can take part in peace negotiations only if they are allowed to keep the areas they annexed from Ukraine 😹.
Elsewhere British PM Rishi Sunak, was in Belfast to gather support for new post Brexit deal for Northern Ireland.
Calling it historic, something his predecessors failed to achieve. That Windsor agreement is quite a breakthrough 💯
Let's go to North west Syria where a cholera outbreak has been reported. It's in the earthquake area, the UN urging international community to come to the rescue of struggling survivors. Over 500 cholera infections reported and two deaths also reported 😭.
Over in neighbouring Turkey, the president has vowed to reconstruct all the destroyed homes👋. This time stronger, safer and better buildings that will withstand earthquakes💯.
Across the pond in the US, govt agencies had two days back asked employees to remove the tik tok app off their phones. Now there's talk of legislation to ban the Chinese app from the entire USA 🙀. All for security reasons, remember the weird balloon 😹.
Canada followed suit by also asking government employees to remove it from their phones. Today the EU parliament has done it too, no employee should have that app installed😹.
China has called it an over reaction and unfair act.
Finally let's finish off in Iran, shocking news as girls schools have been targeted with some type of poisonous gas. This by suspected religious groups that are against girls education 🙀. Luckily no one has been killed 💯.
