Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's still the first week of Feb and the stepping continued unabated. Please keep reading 👓 as I let you in on how my day has been and also a quick look at some of the trending stories. Thank you for being here, let's do this 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool breeze.
So what's been trending? Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹, kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, a powerful earthquake has left over 3,600 dead in Turkey and Syria😭. Freezing weather conditions are hampering rescue efforts. Meanwhile hospitals have been overwhelmed as wounded people keep arriving🙀. The worst part is that it occurred at 4am local time when most people were asleep.
My sincere condolences 😭 to all the bereaved families, am speechless.
In Europe, fierce battle is on between Ukrainian soldiers and Russians in Donetsk. Meanwhile, in the UK, nurses and ambulance workers went on a strike asking for better pay and good working conditions 💯.
Across the pond in the US, music's big night happened last night. Harry styles beat Beyonce to win album of the year at the grammys. Beyonce still made history with the highest grammy wins by any artist ever. She now has a total of 32 grammys to her name 🎊.
Can you believe China has another balloon flying over Latin America 🙀. What's with these balloons 😹.
Let's finish off down in Chile, at least 26 people have been killed by wild fires that have been raging through central Chile since Thursday 😭. A heat wave and a nearly 13 year long drought are hampering efforts to control the fires. 800 homes have been destroyed so far and 11 people have been detained for possible involvement in the fire🙀.
