Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. As always glad you stopped by. Hopefully 2023 has been good to you this far💯, January is now gone. I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a peek into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. Come on, let's get cracking 💨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. A short session that I enjoyed. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. Meanwhile in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of crypto/twitter. let's get into that next
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. Over in the DRC, the Pope celebrated mass and met victims of the ongoing unrest, urging fighters to lay down their weapons.
Globally, fierce fighting went on unabated in eastern Ukraine 🙀. German tanks were sent out today to help the Ukrainians against Russia.
Trending in the UK, close to half a million bus and 🚆 train drivers, civil servants, teachers and security guards went on strike marching in London🙀. They are demanding higher pay and better working conditions amid growing inflation.
Speaking of inflation, across the pond in the US, the federal reserve has raised interest rate by 0.25%.
Also trending in the US, the funeral is underway for Tyre Nichols a victim of police brutality 😭. Reverend Al Sharpton and vice president Kamala are in attendance.
Finally, let's go to Pakistan where there are reports that the mosque bombing in the Peshawar police compound may have been an inside job🙀.
