Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. As always glad you stopped by. Hopefully 2023 has been good to you this far💯. I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a peek into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. Come on, let's get cracking 💨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. Meanwhile in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of crypto/twitter. let's get into that next
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. Today the government launched a new project to modernize rail transport. In Ethiopia's Tigray region the rebels are now handing their heavy weapons to the federal forces as the peace deal they signed earlier comes into effect. Let's hope for lasting peace in that region💯.
Globally, Ukraine trending as brutal bloody battle continued for the town of Soledar. Ukraine has firmly denied Russian claims of control of that town. Meanwhile Ukraine has been crying out for more heavy armour, longer range weapons and air defense systems to end the war💯.
Today president Zelensky received the Polish and Lithuanian presidents who visited Kyiv.
Across the pond in the US, flights are back on as earlier a major technical glitch in computer systems grounded thousands of flights🙀. No, it wasn't an attack.
Still in the US, the golden globes just went on with Steven Spielberg's Fabelmans winning best motion picture drama👍.
Trending in Afghanistan, 21 people killed and several injured in a suicide blast outside Afghan foreign ministry 🙀. Sincere condolences to the bereaved families 😭.
Finally, in crazy weather, -62 degrees centigrade recorded in far eastern Siberia for the first time in twenty years. Then severe cold in western Asia has brought record low temperatures to Afghanistan.
