Happy Sunday, Happy new year 2023🎊 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊.Hopefully you are fairing on well with the day and its festivities. As always I am truly happy and grateful for a new year💯,many wanted to see it but didn't, so we are all blessed for another year. Thank you for being here yet again and before bedtime, let's quickly take a look at how my day went and also some of the trending stories. Here we go again, come on 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. But it was a short walk as I slept a little longer this morning 😹. Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and then the afternoon saw me go out for lunch with family. This time instead of the mall like on Xmas day, we chose a small hotel in a forested area just outside the city. A nice place for an outdoor picnic, their food was amazing and the kids played by the bouncing castle. My aunt finally made it out of New York after two flight cancellations, she's enjoying the sunny weather.
Then I was back home for a short but refreshing nap💤. I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some you tube videos and news. I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk, a rather short one just to stretch out my legs. Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, People were out at many venues enjoying themselves making merry welcoming the new year and hoping for the best in the new year.
Globally, Croatia trending as they adopted the Euro as their national currency, they also get to be part of the Schengen zone, congratulations 🎉🎊. This after ten years of joining the EU.
Elsewhere, the Russian bombardment of Ukraine continued but Ukraine's air force claimed to have shot down 45 Russian drones👋. President Zelensky praised them for all they did to minimize the damage.
Across the pond in Brazil, president Lula Da Silva has been sworn in for the third time as president 🎉🎊. His predecessor Bolsonaro didn't attend the handing over ceremony, instead he flew to the US😹. Security was very tight as his bitter supporters had promised not to let that ceremony take place 🙀.
Also trending, more countries are adding travel restrictions on Chinese travellers as covid cases surge in China🙀.
Finally, attention seeking North Korean Kim Jong-un has ordered an exponential increase in the country's nuclear arsenal 🙀. This to counter the United States and South Korea, it's a wild world😹.
