Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Its yet another 24 hours to be grateful for 💯, the holiday season slowly creeping in on us😹. I have had a great day and as it draws to a close am raring to go with my stepping activities and also share what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a cloudy morning as I made my way. Anyways, I did enjoy my walk and was back indoors an hour later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the shopping centre for some groceries. It had turned into a beautiful sunny day as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news ,youtube and an interesting world cup semi final game.
Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹. Facebook's meta company has been sued in a Kenyan court for inciting hatred in Ethiopia🙀, they failed to take down posts that fueled the war in Tigray region.
Elsewhere in DRC, flooding and landslides reported after heavy downpours.
Globally, Ukraine trending as they brought down several drones shot at them by Russia👋. This mostly in the capital Kyiv and in Kherson. Lately Russia has been targeting power grids to punish Ukrainians with blackouts during the winter 🙀.
Elsewhere in the UK, 4 people died as they tried to cross the English channel from France 😭. They usually do it in small boats which end up capsizing. The things people do for a better life🙀.
Across the pond in the US, Biden's African summit kept going. A range of new partnerships with African leaders on trade, technology, finance and many other areas. Lately Chinese investments in Africa have outpaced America 🙀.
Down in the Bahamas, FTX exchange founder SBF, denied bail in court appearance. And in Peru, a 30 day state of emergency announced to quell the ongoing protests.
Let's finish off with some football shenanigans 😹. Today was the semi final game between France and Morocco. It just ended with France win, Mpabbe and team went all out in a thrilling encounter. The French president Macron in attendance. Congratulations 🎊🎉 to both teams, Morocco have come so far to reach the semis, they have done Africa proud as no team has made it this far💯.
So now we wait for the finals on Sunday when France go one on one with Argentina 🐾, I have no idea who to support 😹.
