Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for, December is around the corner, a new week and I have had a great day. It's now that time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories that caught my eye. As always thank you for reading and let's get it done 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. At least today the sun was out on a beautiful Monday morning with an amazing fresh breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some world cup which I will share next. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹, The Congo peace talks have moved over to Nairobi, as a permanent solution is sought for lasting peace in the region.
Over in Mogadishu, somali, al shabab fighters who were holed up at a five star hotel were finally flushed out and hostages set free.
In Nigeria people have been queueing for hours for petrol as a countrywide shortage looms🙀. This despite the country being a member of OPEC, though it doesn't have facilities to refine crude oil. The govt is under pressure to ease the shortage and lower petrol prices.
Globally, China trending as protests spread with reports of clashes with police in Shanghai 🙀. Today the highest number of covid positive cases at 40k.
Over in Ukraine, president Zelensky urged citizens to prepare for another hard week as the country braces for new Putin strikes amid winter🙀.
Across the pond in Hawaii, a dormant volcano has erupted for first time since 1984🙀.
Finally let's finish with some football shenanigans 😹. Brazil is through to the last 16 after beating Switzerland. In another game Ghana beat south Korea. Cameroon on the other hand drew with Serbia. In the on going match Portugal is ahead with two goals against Uruguay.Am looking forward to tomorrow's games 😹
