TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us, I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive in this day and age💯. I thank you all of you for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹, the vetting of the new ministers by parliament kept going.
Globally, Ukraine trending, the Ukrainian soldiers continued their counter offensive in Kherson.
Today accusing Russia of trying to blow up a dam in the area😹. Russia of course denying it.
Over in the UK, the conservative party is looking for a new PM after that sensational resignation of Liz. Guess who might be coming back, Boris Johnson 😹, Rishi Sunak and Mordaunt also top contenders. In Italy Giorgia Meloni has been named new PM and will be finally sworn in on Saturday. Making history as the first female PM in Italy.
Across the pond in the US, the house panel investigating the Jan 6th capitol hill riots has issued a subpoena for Trump to testify by Nov 14th😹.His friend Steve Bannon sentenced to prison for 4 months🙀for contempt of Congress.
In Asia, former Pakistani PM Imran Khan has been barred from running for office for the next five years 🙀. His supporters staged large protests. He later urged them to calm down as he will be appealing that decision in court.
