Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Tuesday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's been another ordinary but wonderful day and before bedtime let's quickly take a look at how my day has been including some of the trending stories I came across. So just like yesterday, I had a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood🌲. The morning air still cold so I had a short session then was back indoors. I did some household chores then rested for a while before catching up with the trending news that I will mention in the next paragraph. The next short walk was in the afternoon to the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. Then next was the usual refreshing nap. Then the last walk came in the evening around the neighborhood, slow paced enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃.
So what's been trending? Locally, political shenanigans 😹 as one of the contenders in the just concluded election disputed the results that were read out yesterday. Four members of the electoral body also sided with him😱. A case will now be lodged at the supreme court for determination. Remember in 2017, the court nullified the election due to irregularities, I don't know what the result of this will be but time will tell.
Globally, Ukraine trending as a Russian army depot in Crimea was attacked. Remembered Russia annexed the Crimea peninsular a few years ago and that attacked depot is an important supply line. Ukraine has not admitted or owned up to that attack😹. Still in Ukraine, a ship carrying grains has left for Africa as export of grains continues. Across the pond in the US, President Biden signed a $740bn health, climate, tax Inflation Reduction Act 👏. Elsewhere in Brazil, election campaigning kicked off today for the the October general election. Former president Lula de Silva seen as a favourite.
In crazy weather, flooding reported in some parts of Paris, France tonight after some heavy torrential rain.
