let us go back once more
to begin anew
what the conjuncture was
and what all was due
let us borrow
the time machine
to go back to that moment
to arrive at a better tomorrow
rewrite the past
to exorcise the ghost
that challenges us today
let us rest its body in peace
so that it evaporates at last
and we do not face tomorrow
in shame and dismay
