Visit Portugal - Quinta do Passal

Sometimes, the best family memories are made in the simplest places. Recently, we spent a sunny day, a peaceful escape filled with open fields and playground fun.

This park has become a goto location for me and my family, especially on days when we want to escape the city buzz and just enjoy a simpler pace of life. The peace and tranquility of the park, combined with open spaces and a playground for my son, make it a destination that is always enjoyable. It's easy to see why we have returned so many times, and last weekend, we made another visit, taking full advantage of the sunny weather.

Este parque tornou-se um local de eleição para mim e para a minha família, especialmente nos dias em que queremos fugir da agitação da cidade e apenas desfrutar de um ritmo de vida mais simples. A paz e a tranquilidade do parque, aliadas aos espaços abertos e ao parque infantil para o meu filho, fazem dele um destino sempre agradável. É fácil perceber porque voltámos tantas vezes e, no passado fim de semana, fizemos mais uma visita, aproveitando ao máximo o tempo soalheiro.

When we arrived, the scene was beautifully calm and bright. The sun was shining, casting a warm glow over the fields, trees and walkways. With no clouds in sight, it felt as if the day had been specially crafted for us to enjoy. I could feel a sense of relaxation settle in as soon as we stepped out of the car.

Quando chegámos, o cenário estava lindamente calmo e claro. O sol brilhava, lançando um brilho quente sobre os campos, as árvores e os passeios. Sem nuvens à vista, parecia que o dia tinha sido especialmente criado para podermos aproveitar. Consegui sentir uma sensação de relaxamento assim que saímos do carro.

As we approached the playground, I was surprised to see that the park was almost entirely empty. Normally, weekends bring a good number of families, especially on days as perfect as this one. But on this particular day, we had the whole place almost to ourselves. The playground is simple yet delightful, a spot where kids can freely explore and let their imaginations soar.

Ao aproximarmo-nos do parque infantil, fiquei surpreendido ao ver que o parque estava quase totalmente vazio. Normalmente os fins de semana reúnem um bom número de famílias, principalmente em dias tão perfeitos como este. Mas neste dia em particular, tínhamos o local todo quase só para nós. O parque infantil é simples mas encantador, um local onde as crianças podem explorar livremente e dar asas à imaginação.

In a world that often feels rushed and loud, the silence here felt like a gift. With my family by my side, we found ourselves just enjoying each other’s company, free from any pressures or distractions.

Num mundo que muitas vezes parece apressado e barulhento, o silêncio aqui parecia uma dádiva. Com a minha família ao meu lado, estávamos apenas a desfrutar da companhia um do outro, livres de qualquer pressão ou distração.

Fields of green grass and patches of flowers surrounded us, and I couldn't help but appreciate the natural beauty of the landscape. The park's open green spaces are expansive, giving the impression of a countryside escape. My son delighted in the freedom to run and roam, often pausing to pick a flower or inspect a rock he found particularly interesting.

Campos de relva verde e manchas de flores rodeavam-nos e não pude deixar de apreciar a beleza natural da paisagem. Os espaços verdes abertos do parque são amplos, dando a impressão de um refúgio no campo. O meu filho adorava a liberdade de correr e de vaguear, parando muitas vezes para colher uma flor ou inspecionar uma pedra que considerava particularmente interessante.

In the distance, we could see the church rising, its steeple adding a beautiful backdrop to the park. The church, with its classical architecture, offered a glimpse of the past, standing quietly amidst the modern, active setting of the park. The church became a landmark in our photos, standing majestically in the background.

Ao longe, podíamos ver a igreja erguendo-se, e o seu campanário acrescentava um belo cenário ao parque. A igreja, com a sua arquitectura clássica, oferecia um vislumbre do passado, erguendo-se tranquilamente no meio do ambiente moderno e activo do parque. A igreja tornou-se um marco nas nossas fotos, ficando majestosamente ao fundo.

Spending time with my family in this peaceful setting allowed us to unwind, talk, and simply enjoy each others company. It was a day full of connection and I couldn't have asked for a better setting. Being outdoors together is always special.

Passar tempo com a minha família neste ambiente tranquilo permitiu-nos relaxar, conversar e simplesmente desfrutar da companhia um do outro. Foi um dia cheio de conexão e não podia ter pedido melhor ambiente. Estar juntos ao ar livre é sempre especial.

Its not the first time I have come here with my son, and each visit brings its own experiences. When we come on quieter days, it feels like we have our little slice of paradise a space where my son can run freely, explore and just be a kid. The calm atmosphere of Quinta do Passal allows me to slow down too, which is something I often forget to do.

Não é a primeira vez que venho aqui com o meu filho e cada visita traz as suas próprias experiências. Quando chegamos a dias mais calmos, parece que temos o nosso pequeno pedaço de paraíso, um espaço onde o meu filho pode correr livremente, explorar e ser apenas uma criança. O ambiente calmo da Quinta do Passal também me permite abrandar, algo que muitas vezes me esqueço de fazer.
