Hello fellow bloggers. Hope all are enjoying the weekend. Here is my story using the 3 prompts. The short story is continued from my last few daily freewrites. I will drop the links to them at the bottom. Thank you for reading.
Oh, and by the way, Chance! I suggest you keep your son under control. If you don't, then I will not be held responsible what my son does to him. "My kid is a jerk but harmless!" But, if your boy doesn't back off, there will be more trouble than he will expect. We keep manners taught to our children in this town, but they are also taught to not put up with bullying, from anyone. A well mannered child goes further in life than a bully. You should think about that. You are in the wrong city if you think your family can run around causing grief.....
I'm going home, and I suggest you turn around, get on your horse and do the same....
I walk my horse to the barn upon getting home. Unsaddle and brush him before walking to the house...As I step into the dimly lit room, I see mama kneeling by the stove. I stood there and watched her before saying a word..She turned off the heater to spare herself the blast of cold air until the engine had a chance to heat up.
Mama never could stand the darned thing. Maybe some day we will build a fireplace. I bet she would love that... "hi mama," I said as I walked up and hug her. ...
"Mama, I promise we will build you a fireplace. Things are just tough right now with the mines being shut down" She turned and gave me that mama knows look. What came next made us both laugh out loud. "the old fashioned porta potties are in more need of replacing than this ol' stove here", she says, as she pats the top of it..At least this still runs.. Now, that porta potty on the other hand, oml the smell from it! My grandchildren don't even like going in it. Did you know Max goes pee behind the barn? His sister is starting to follow suit. They don't want to use that porta unless I check it for snakes and such first.
"lol, mama"..
