I have been Missing in Action for a long while now. Those in contact with me outside of HIVE, have checked in with me more than once. Know that I do appreciate you for that.
My mother-in-law has taken ill. My husband and I have been spending most of our time looking after her and generally being upset at the terrible quality of healthcare she has been receiving. I am not going to go into details. Fellow Saffers will know what I am talking about. Private or state-owned, it all seems to be going to hell in a handbasket these days.
I took a stroll out in the garden today and I was in good company.
I have been a highly stressed-out mess. In the last three weeks, I have had three panic/anxiety attacks (in public). One of which was at my husband's birthday party. Talk about feeling like a party pooper. Thankfully my wonderful husband was his usual awesome self.
I haven't done any art or crafts, which is my usual stress relief. Instead, I turned to food, stress, and comforting eating. This morning I got onto the scale for the first time in months. The reason why I was starting to feel so uncomfortable in my skin was pretty obvious at that point.
I cannot continue on this downward spiral. I've been down that road, it isn't pretty, and it isn't what I want. So, I am slamming on the brakes right here and now. Getting back on track is not going to be easy or instant. I know that. I've done this enough to realize I need to be patient and kind to myself. But, I also need to start somewhere. I will not progress in the right direction unless I start putting one foot in front of the other.
Putting one foot in front of the other and trying to get a cute face to look up at the camera!
So, here I am, the first step. Start posting on HIVE again.
It's not a big step, but it is a step. Hopefully, it is a step that will help me move forward in other things as well, such as drawing and crafting. Other steps I plan on taking include looking into being more physically active and doing some spring cleaning around our dwelling.
As always, thank you for stopping by and reading my ramblings. I hope you enjoyed my furbabies' cute faces. They really are a large part of my heart.
