Introduction
Hi everyone it's @LivingUKTaiwan here today's edition of the #TravelDigest. Travelling sometimes takes us to sad places, just like two of our Top 3 posts today. The first one is the ruins of a beautiful building in the Philippines built by a wealthy man in memory of his wife who died giving birth to their 11th child. The second one is a Nazi concentration camp in Germany, not an easy read but history that we should all be aware of and never forget. And finally, our last Top 3 post is a bit lighter, we go to a monastery on an island in Albania.

馃 THE FAMOUS AND BEAUTIFUL "THE RUINS" OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, PHILIPPINES! by
" "The Ruins" is built by Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson the wealthy Haciendero of Talisay, Negros Occidental, who was deeply in love with his beautiful Portuguese wife. As sorrowful as it sounds, the mansion was not built "for love at that moment" but rather "in memory of the loving Portuguese wife". The wife died during giving birth to their 11th child. The husband, Mariano, had the mansion built as a symbol of his love and devotion to his wife."

馃 Germany 2#: Sachsenhausen, a nazi concentration camp[ENG-ESP] by
" My reflection is that the visit to this place is hard, strong and sad when you imagine everything that happened here. But it is part of our history and it never hurts to remember the past to prevent it from happening again.
Many times I wondered how it was possible that the population, so many people, agreed with what was happening here and did nothing to prevent it.
The guide told us that the surrounding population had no idea what was happening inside the concentration camps. Because the SS did a very good misleading propaganda where people thought that the prisoners here were in good condition and just doing jobs."

馃 St. Mary's Monastery on the island of Zvernec, Albania by
" After parking the car on the side of the road we walked towards the only access to the island and of course to the monastery, a wooden path.
The wooden path gives an amazing contrast of the island and the monastery, at one point the path splits in two, a path leading to the island and a path leading to a pier.
The first time we walked on the wooden path leading to the pier, there some guys were hunting some crabs, also from here you can watch the marine life formed by pelicans, turtles (small size), you can feel a sense of relief and relaxation standing on the edge of the pier watching the marine life."
