🥇 Old Gold Mining Village, Jiufen, Japan by @junebride

Flying Lanterns and Hanging Bamboos at Shifen Old Street: Our tour guide who looks like Jackie Chan told us while on a microphone what to expect about this quaint town. His first word was "gold". This town was a gold mining village, it was a small town that developed quickly when they found gold during the Japanese occupation in 1893. The small town became so popular that although this is a far isolated area, many businesses were booming, making it a small city. But as the gold rush declined, the town was left only as a tourist destination because it is interesting to see this once wealthy town showing Taiwanese history and culture and a taste of Japanese and Chinese style.

🥈 Our two day expedition to sleep at the iconic Wolfberg Arch, Wolfberg Cracks, South Africa by @zo3d

I’ve said that I’ve done crazy hikes in the past BUT THIS ONE WAS ABSOLUTELY BONKERS!!!! About 2 hours from Cape Town you will find the beautiful mountainous ranges of the Cederberg. Being an ocean-loving family, I have never really visited this part of my province, but now that I have, I’ll definitely be back - and quite soon. My sister, Jade, had planned the trip and asked me and her friend Michael to join her. Just some backstory - Jade has multiple sclerosis (MS) and struggles with vertigo, fatigue, weakened right leg and right arm amongst a couple of other things. But she was super keen to do this hike so I agreed.

🥉 Must-see places #15 Monument to Aunt Sonia, Odesa, Ukraine by @scrodinger

Odesa is a sea city and therefore the main products that are popular here are fish and any sea inhabitants. And where does everyone buy it most often? Right! At local markets. And today we will talk about the sculpture of Aunt Sonya - which is a "chic" native Odesa woman selling dried Black Sea gobies at the Privoz market. Aunt Sonya is a collective image of the heroine of Valentin Kataev's story "A lonely sail turns white ..." and the fisherwoman Sonya from the song "Scows full of mullets".
