Introduction

Hi everyone @LivingUKTaiwan here with the weekend edition of the #TravelDigest. Today we'll start our Top 3 post at an ashram ( a kind of spiritual retreat) in India that once hosted the Beatles . The next Top 3 post is a cemetery in Poland that has developed into a kind of outdoor museum over the years. And finally, we head down under for some stunning natural views in Australia. Enjoy!

馃 Exploring The Abandoned Beatles Ashram in the Indian Himalayas. by cottonlazarus@cottonlazarus

"Standing in the shadows was the same thin Indian man I鈥檇 come across in all states, white vest, gold necklace, cigarette, moustache. We later discovered he doesn鈥檛actually do anything and if you walk 50m north, the fence stops, and you can just enter the complex for free. However, we happily paid our $10 or so and walked through the original entrance, the same one the Beatles and loads of other stars wandered through in their hey-day. That in itself was worth the ten bucks."

馃 Faces of Necropolis by astinmin@astinmin

"City residents and tourists very eagerly visit Rakowicki Cemetery. It houses about 75 thousand graves, most of which are monuments of funerary art. It is a kind of national cultural monument. Many Polish artists, scientists, activists, politicians, and representatives of eminent families are buried here. We can also find participants in the struggle for Polish independence - from the national-liberation uprisings of the 19th century to the Second World War. "

馃 Kangaroo Island - South Australian gem by wanderingkat@wanderingkat

"Kangaroo Island and its residents and wildlife were deeply affected when a devastating bushfire burnt through the land in 2020. It was the largest in the island's history and it burnt nearly half of the island. It was ignited by multiple lightening strikes and it had a massive impact on homes, people, tourism, businesses, nature, animals - it was a hard year in so many ways."
