"We also felt the altitude. It became necessary to walk slowly. The same day we made a detour to get close to Mt. Everest. The Pang-la pass is situated at 5120 m. above sea level. When we stand here we look beyond all the highest peaks of the Himalayas. That is when I got that feeling of standing on the roof of the world."

"The first stop was in the Loonse en Drunense Duinen, after a cop of coffee we walked to the aged of the forest where you can find one of the largest shifting sand areas in Western Europe. The wind can blow undisturbed in many places and that creates an ever-changing landscape. Some people call it the Dutch dessert!"

🥉 Prineville Reservoir, Rock Formations and a Drive Along the North Shore Road by @oldmans

"My first rock formation as I enter Prineville Reservoir State Park. Here in the western US we are experiencing extreme drought conditions and normally the water would be all the way up to the bottom of this picture. You can also see the exposed vegetation free bank that would usually be covered with water."
