Introduction

Hello everyone! This is ybanezkim26@ybanezkim26 and I'll be presenting today's edition of #TravelDigest. We have some awesome stuff today. One takes us back to the sad history of Nagasaki, Japan, the other is a solo trip to Prague, Czech Republic, and the last takes us to a turquoise field in California, USA. The honorable mentions are awesome as well. I'd say it's a strong day for travel posts. Enjoy!

馃 Beautiful town with a lot of sad history, Nagasaki, Japan (8 pics) by karma-panorama@karma-panorama

We took a three and a half hour train to Nagasaki, Japan. Upon arrival, we decide to take the tramway to see the memorial park and museum first. Sad reality shown in video at the beginning of the exposition, very well done, but very sad. The bomb is big, but not that big. Hard to imagine that this can cause so much damage.

馃 Mineral Mondays #52 Turquoise by rt395@rt395

Everyone knows of the gemstone turquoise. In the US it comes from Nevada, Arizona & New Mexico and is associated with Native Americans, but did you know California produces beautiful turquoise too? Turquoise has been used for millennia both in the America's by the Native Americans, but also in the Middle East, Iran, Turkey for which it is named after and most notably Egypt where it was mined as far back as 5000BC*, 7,000 years ago!
