While investigating gunshots down the tracks, I survived a dark ambush before discovering a pile of slaughtered soldiers. The target beast unexpectedly struck, but a dying soldier's explosive caused a concussive hallucination of Kyle's past. Kyle reported the hyper-aggressive threat to Jacob before noticed a massive Volatile horde breakout.
When I was moving ahead to find the beast, I noticed more flashlights around, and I heard sounds of battle from ahead. And suddenly, I was ambushed by some infected in the dark. So I first lured them into light to ensure clear visibility.
Then I just stopped to take care of them, and I started hitting the infected that came close to me using the melee weapon I was holding, smashing through their decayed armor with heavy swings.
Then I reached this door that was slightly open, that I had to investigate it. And I just knew something was going to happen right after opening it, so first I checked around for supplies.
And yeah, right when I opened the door, a dead body of a soldier fell down that was leaned on it, and I found more dead bodies on the train track along with an alive one who was coughing up blood.
Suddenly, another soldier tried to jump out of a dark back of a truck, warning that it was still here. And then the beast jumped on me, and its immense weight pinned Kyle instantly against the floor.
I already got confused about what to do next as the beast came in presence. Then the he soldier coughing up blood threw a flash bomb toward us, asking the beast to choke it off, which affected Kyle as well, and it looked like Kyle got unconscious as he was seeing things from his past.
Kyle found himself in one piece and he saw the flashlight on his back which confirmed the return route.
Then he saw the beast on the other side of a wall through a hole, and the beast just ignored him and escaped again. And Kyle told Jacob through the comms that this beast was a special kind of Volatile, warning that its speed and intelligence exceeded anything they had faced before.
Now when Kyle was preparing to get out of the tunnel and get back to Jacob, he suddenly saw an infected coming out of a dark corridor. And there came a Volatile following that infected.
And it looked like the Volatile was not the only one, there was a horde of them coming out to rip Kyle apart.
