Kratos discussed Atreus's destiny as Loki before resting inside, where Mimir comforted him over Fenrir's death. Falling asleep, Kratos experienced a vivid dream of Faye guiding him through the woods to track a scared wolf cub. Waking up alone, Kratos stepped outside after realizing Atreus still did not return.
Being sad and angry, Atreus mentioned whatever Loki has supposed to be doing, he's supposed to be doing it now. He noted that his story did not end hiding in these woods, adding that he should be out there finding out who he is and who Loki is.
Then Kratos mentioned he would not allow Atreus to pick a fight with gods. Atreus replied that he did not want to fight anyone and just wanted answers, prompting Kratos to ask what would happen if those answers led directly to a war with Asgard.
Atreus replied that maybe war was what his mother wanted. After walking over to the body of Fenrir, Atreus asked Kratos if he could have a moment alone with Fenrir before they bury him.
Leaving Atreus behind alone, Kratos headed inside the home and found the head of Mimir writing something. Mimir mentioned he would recognize that dour expression anywhere and asked Kratos what went wrong.
Replying to Mimir that the wolf was gone, Kratos laid down on his bed to get some needed rest after the emotional toll of the loss.
Right after a moment, a hand appeared as if someone was hugging Kratos from behind. Being surprised, Kratos touched the hand and sat up quickly from is sleep.
Kratos walked outside his home into what looked like a completely different place. His deceased wife, Faye, was calling his name and asking if he would join her, and the lady surprisingly appeared before him in the forest.
Realizing it was a sweet dream, I followed Faye through the woods. She brought me to a dead deer, mentioning that at least it was a fresh kill and had not suffered.
Continuing to follow her, I reached another clearing where a wolf cub had just killed a deer. Faye tried to calm the young wolf by mentioning they only wanted to help, but the beast got scared and escaped right away.
We had to look for an alternative route since the main path was blocked by the deer carcass. We worked together to clear the way by lifting and shifting several large tree logs out of our path.
As Kratos held one of the big tree logs, Faye moved ahead and vanished into thin air. While looking around for her, Kratos suddenly noticed the scared wolf cub standing in front of him before it escaped once again.
Kratos started looking for Faye in the woods. Suddenly, she reappeared to tell him that time was running out and there was much to do, touching Kratos's forehead before gently pushing him back toward his own reality.
Kratos woke up back on his bed, realizing it had all been a vivid dream. Touching his forehead where Faye had placed her hand, he walked outside the home after noticing Atreus still did not return from burying the wolf.
