It's a big green field with lovely flowers, tall trees, a small stream, and some rocks.
It's very close to where I live, so I take a walk to the field. There, I walk around, sit, watch people (especially children and couples, and take photos of the flowers, trees, rocks, and more.
I find delight in this activity, as it has become my escape from overthinking, boredom, and emotional swings.
I love nature—the chirping of birds, the rustling sounds of trees, and the cool breeze from the river. It's like a soothing remedy for me, especially when I transition from being very excited to feeling dull and moody. I've noticed this shift usually occurs when I'm expecting my monthly visitor, so I've grown accustomed to it.
But today is different. It's been raining since morning, up to this moment as I type.
I don't find it funny because I'm alone, with no one to talk to. I'm not very productive when I'm stuck indoors. I enjoy walking around, interacting with people, observing animals and trees, looking at the sky, and all that.
However, due to the heavy and continuous rainfall, I find myself feeling confused.
I didn't feel like watching a movie or listening to music. I wanted to engage in something that would clear my mind and make me feel fulfilled, which could only happen if I did something productive.
I scrolled through Hive, searching for prompts from communities. I selected two and attempted to write on each.
I wrote a few paragraphs and realised I might regret it later. What I wrote was too explicit and too personal to share. I don't think there's where I'll hide when I recover to read what I posted. My pillow won't hide me, and the ground would refuse to open up for me.
So, I learnt something today:
Be cautious of the things you share when you are emotionally unstable; you may regret it later:)
I had to save the paragraphs as a draft and write this to express my feelings instead.
I made the right choice because I'm feeling much better now; I'm happy, smiling, excited—you name it. I feel very positive. So, besides immersing myself in nature, I can also find peace by writing out my thoughts, feelings, and everything else. They are all simple things. What I love most about it is that it's independent; I can do it on my own, by myself, in my room. Nothing is as satisfying as finding peace from within.
I believe this is how life should be: simple and intriguing. Negativity should only come to teach us lessons and to make us stronger and better.
As long as we are alive and breathing, there are many things that can trigger happiness. And the best is always the simplest of them all—that which comes effortlessly.
I believe peace is not far from us; it's within us and around us. We just have to discover it and share it with others. Because one who has peace can offer peace.
Thank you for taking the time to read my piece.
May nothing taint your weekend. Enjoy it to the fullest.
