The Seduction of Cryptocurrency
“Herd Mentality is when you follow a person or a trend just because it has been a hit once or twice.” - Nikita Dudani
A Game of Regulation?
Decentralization is at the heart of Blockchain technology and Cryptocurrency, which the government is acutely well aware of. Despite this, the government's role is to regulate society, even if this limits people's liberty. And within finance - namely Cryptocurrency - regulation may dampen the volatility of the market, producing less profit, thus making the market appear less lucrative (And let's not forget taxation).
All the while regulation is on the brink, the crypto community is waiting for their coin, such as Bitcoin, to moon to "all time highs" of $100k per Bitcoin. Have they even begun to consider the dampening effect this would have on the lucrative aspect of the cryptocurrency market. For instance, let's say Bitcoin does reach $100k by 2022, if this happens, wouldn't this be unattractive to new investors who happened to have "missed the boat"?
