The Love of Success

"A man with too much ambition cannot sleep in peace." - Proverb

What is Success?

On all accounts, success is inevitably a relative concept, based on a person's perspective. But, let's just talk in general terms. Success is having lots of money, wealth, and fortune. That means the expensive car, the mansion, the private jets - hence, the millionaire lifestyle.

This all sounds like the dream lifestyle, but is it realistic? Let's be honest, how many people can live this way? For the average person working the 9 - 5, the millionaire lifestyle seems like a fairy-tale that will never become a reality. So, why does society promote such a dream, when it's just a dream?

How power is sold?

All men to some degree desire power, and by working harder and earning more money, people feel as though they are growing more powerful. As we live in a capitalist society, a "dog eat dog" mentality is seen as healthy to maintain a competitively healthy economy. But how far is society willing to deceive mankind?

Even in the workplace, all friends become foes when they are promoted. Even in families, divisions occur when family members become wealthier. All facets of society are plagued with an idealistic notion of what success is. And with that notion they attach a sinister dislike to those whom they deem inferior.

Conclusion...

As long as society gives people a false sense of power, mankind will always believe they are successful through materialistic consumption. As long as the women can buy shoes and the men cars, everyone's happy, right?
