I'm puzzled by how some people keep doing things even though they aren’t actually gaining anything from them. Why do something when you already know it won’t make much of an impact?
When things don’t turn out the way you imagined, do you stop trying, or do you keep pushing forward?
It really depends on whether you're pursuing it for yourself or just to show off to others. Hmm, that might sound a bit unclear—so let me clarify with an example.
A good one is going to the gym to work out. If you're doing it just to show others that you live a healthy lifestyle, that’s not a strong enough reason to keep you motivated. The chances of people actually looking up to you or admiring what you do are slim. Sometimes, the ones who notice and compliment you might only be doing so because they want a compliment in return. Just like on social media, it can be an indirect way of seeking your attention. Their praise may not even be genuine—it could be more about them than about you.
Instead of doing things just to receive compliments from others, why not simply do them for yourself? Living a healthy lifestyle is for your own benefit, so why worry about what others think? We shouldn't let other people's opinions define how we see ourselves.
You’ve got to care for yourself with motivation that comes from within, not from external validation.
Take every step and appreciate the progress you make along the way. No matter how small, progress deserves to be celebrated. And the same goes for everything else happening in your life—celebrate it and appreciate every bit of it.
Enjoy!
At the end of the day, your journey is yours alone, and every step you take is worth celebrating. Stay true to yourself, and let your inner drive light the way forward.
