So it's day 5 of my 'dry July' detox from coffee and cannabis. I'm happy to report that it's easy going.
I feel very clearheaded, and my mood is incredibly stable. I noticed myself going into thought patterns of blame a couple times (aka helplessness, outside-in mentality) yet found the required clarity to withdraw my attention. Seemingly I am less blindly involved in things without the excess stimulation, it's easier to see the big picture.
One theory I came up with is that without getting a 'buzz', as a means of distration or dissociation - that we really have to face our shit when it comes up. So there's been moments of that, and I'm grateful to process things as they emerge instead of racing away into my mind.
It's been quite a productive time, with a lot of Steemit posts and tackling some house cleaning tasks that no one seemed to want to do. There's also been lots of afternoon naps.
My meditation was, well, really different. A lot of visual things happened. In terms of extra sensory things, the visual aspect has never been my strong point. Always a bit vague and wispy. I guess you could say I am more of a 'knower' than a 'seer'.
The general quality of my life with this level of sobriety leads me to believe that there's a strong link between detoxification and how well the third eye functions. I found that things started to get pretty 'weird' when I did intermittent fasting aswell.
Where Do I See Myself?
I have played around with denying myself (my mind) these two things in the past. This time is a little different though. I feel as if I am coming from a different place.
This time I feel that I have made a strong internal decision to not take in things that will affect my clarity. And I feel no doubt that I can do the month, the real question I am asking myself is can I give these things up entirely? Is that the most aligned thing to do?
Internally I have a story about my life as a gradual refinement process, it started with taking a plant based diet, and stopping drinking. Then I started drinking only filtered non fluoridated water.
Now that the ball is rolling I want more of whatever will make me feel this good.
From here I see the way forward being continuing to refine the diet, with fasting. Fully abstaining from any drugs aside from plant medicines in ceremonial settings. And even breaking the habit of needing sex or masturbation (a few blushes from the audience). It's my sense that it's all just things that I have trained myself to need, distractions basically. It probably seems extreme, but the more I come into my true self the more I see my life as just a bunch of impulses pulling me away from this amazing state of being.
Breaking the habit or compulsion will allow a more natural way of relating to things, when there's no NEED for something it opens up so much space.
Have you ever noticed when you're joyfully single; and you have feel absolutely no need for a partner, that people will start taking increased interest in you? It's exactly like this, there's a power in the human being which is unlocked through ceasing to put ourselves into everything OUT THERE. By just being, our own awesomeness comes through. We become mangetic and charismatic, enjoying the radiance of our own illumination.
Gratitudes to @wallpaperflower for my recent free Vedic Astrology overview which revealed that I was a highly solar being!
There's lots of things that we can do with our lives. For me I feel a very strong pull towards the expansion of consciousness, you could describe that as spiritual. It's becoming increasingly clear that MOST of my lifestyle choices are based around habits, it's just mind games. It's not really to do with if those things are good for me, or if they serve my process, of if they serve the greater good. It's mostly just because it's convenient to stay the same and repeat the same story again and again.
If you've read anything about manifestation
and the law of attraction you will know that it's really a mind game. It's about who you ARE, and what you fixate on. Some big lessons are landing in my life right about now about who I am and what I am really doing each day, each hour, each moment.
Without the context of mortality then it could be tempting to whittle our lives away to meaningless things. It's 100% OK to do that, but some part inside yearns for incredible expansion. That part can only be satisfied with radical change, so as much as I can I will point myself in that direction and see what happens.
It makes sense that our capacity to manifest the amazing things we are really inspired to do; or to connect with our real inspiration, will be more limited if we are always playing around with lowly things like addictions and compulsions. I felt a bit of pain in accepting that, yet it felt true to me personally.
I feel an intensity rising, yet it's different from the intensity I had always using something to affect myself. It's a clear headedness with determination, it's inner fire. I like this feeling and I can highly recommend it.
Further food for thought
I watched a cool video from Bridget Nielson about why it can be good to give up coffee, this really affirmed the conclusions I had come to on my own. It's quite informative, and she seems like a super woke gal.
Ray Maor is an awesome Pranic Living (aka breatharianism) instructor and initiator. Yes that's right he teaches people to exist without eating anything (or relatively little such as the occassional fruit juice). Just as I was contemplating these things, a new video of his came into my YouTube feed. The video is him debriefing some of his students after going through a 10 day fasting process, it might be a little out of context but you never know. Would be interested to hear your responses to such a radical undertaking.
Thank you for reading my friends.
