Hello everyone and happy Tuesday. The rush of Christmas is finally over, well it was technically rather over yesterday, but yesterday was my resting day. I love being on vacation, that is always a plus for the holidays, It also means I can take some time drawing without running after clock; I can draw a little, walk away, come back a few hours after and continue. This is just great, I could really ge use to that.
Lately I have bought a software and I have been practicing drawing some digital arts. The software is Clip Studio Paint Pro, and it goes so well. Even if the freeware were not that bad, It is hard to compare. So I have been practicing an exploring different stuff such as shading, lights, layers, smudge, blending...the list goes on. I don't usually draw any landscape, but it is something that I want to get into if I want to eventually make some comic book panels (for fun of course). Also it was a good way to combine the latest tricks that I have learned.
I tried to go by the book, using separate layers for different objects or perspective ( such as the mountain, the sky, the character, the tree and the water). Using ratter dark colors that were not saturated as base, it made it easier to distinguish the different depth. afterwards, I chose where the point of light would origin from and started coloring from there. I really enjoyed the coloring of this one, it was really relaxing and made me think a little bit like when I was a child and drawing in a coloring book. No stress whatsoever, just concentrating and enjoying the moment : being in my own little world. Even though it's not perfect or a masterpiece like we see often up there on the web, I still really like the way it turned out, I can see the different stuff that I have learned in application, therefore I see progression :-)
