Greetings, everyone!
This morning I'm happy because Jesus Christ has done it for me on the cross. I don't take His sacrificial love for granted, it was freely given, and freely I received with joy, hope, and trust. He is just a beautiful friend to behold, a friend laying down His life for me to come into His relevant realm of possibilities.
St. John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
So I started from verse 1, of this passage and saw how the Jews kept to the rules of the law, to the point when Jesus Christ healed the sick on the Sabbath day, they were angered. And asked Jesus why he healed the sick on that day, and this was the response:
John 5:17 RSV
[17] But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working still, and I am working.”
John 5:18 RSV
[18] This was why the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the sabbath but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
They did this because they were under the law that governed their lives. And Jesus broke that law, and they were angry, and they tried to kill him. These were people who didn't understand who God is, nor believe what the scriptures say. Not knowing, old things have passed away, now all things have become new.
Therefore, hearing and believing God is the main thing and eternal life will be granted. The man with the illness believed in God and he was healed.
Hearing and believing the word of God grants us access to a deeper, everlasting relationship with God; in Him we move and have our being. When we do this, we can ask anything in His name and he will give it to us. If an earthly father can give good gifts to his earthly children, how much more can our heavenly Father give better than our parents do?
Our relationship with God must be intentional, and the consciousness that He is our father, and we must hear and believe His word, which carries His power, authority, and the word can heal, and can bring restoration to the lost soul.
His word brings deliverance, freedom, favor, blessings, prosperity, and more.
Thank you for reading through.
