I know this post is long overdue and you must have seen a lot of excerpts from my lovely PH buddies post for that day but I would like to still shed light from my own lens and give my review of the meet-up.

I had looked forward to that day like it was a reunion of old-time friends and Alas, the day came with so much excitement. I set out to the venue of the meet-up, Pleasure Park and a part of me was a bit unsure as to what reception I would meet since I had only met the team virtually. But to my greatest excitement, I was met with such a warm welcome from young-boss-karin@young-boss-karin, khaleesii@khaleesii, and almostsober@almostsober.

We began to gist about random stuff and just get-to-know-you kind of questions and samostically@samostically and wildthougts@wildthougts joined us for the party. Then the fun began!

Climbing Time

We headed towards the climbing course, made payments and the fun began.

I did not have the right shoes on to participate, the one provided by the park did not come with a new pair of socks, so I took to my heels lol. However, on the flip side, I opted to be the photographer for the day and that was a pure cruise on its own.

The team was geared up and briefed on safety, how they were expected to navigate the course while climbing, and moving from tier to tier. Then climbing began.

A Photographer Perspective

1.khaleesii@khaleesii was the ginger queen. She was eager to participate and have as much fun as she could. I loved it! She did not hesitate to attempt even the seemingly challenging climbing course against all odds. This was fun to watch from the ground looking up.

2.young-boss-karin@young-boss-karin wanted to chicken out initially because she did not enjoy her previous experience with a part of the climbing course. However, as the brave woman that she is, she set out to take the challenge head-on and went for it. She climbed as many paths as she could and danced the whole time. I like to call her my dancing queen because she did not fail to deliver once the music she loved came on.

3.wildthougts@wildthougts was an easy-going guy. I like to call him too cool for school. He could not come and kill himself ohh. He did the ones he could do and retired back down. He made a good attempt at a couple of climbing courses and had his fair share of fun climbing.

4.samostically@samostically was the hype guy. I like to say he had a few entanglements here and there but to be fair, he attempted and succeeded in climbing some really challenging paths. We have to give him an A for Effort. Sam also liked to summon me for photos I must add, he believed I was his personal paparazzi and I hope I gave him the right shots and angles.

Say Cheese

5.almostsober@almostsober was the daring guy. I call him Zidi the brave. Zidi was determined to finish what he had started and we were here for it. Even after the team had alighted from the climbing course, Zidi forged ahead and kept pushing limits. I am pleased to say he considerably completed the climbing course and black soot officially welcomed him to PH.

An Educative Hive Talk Session
Hive logo line.png
The team proceeded to have a sit down in the open park field as samostically@samostically educated us about Hive. He started with his journey on how he started and how far he had come. Furthermore, he shared tips on how to remain consistent and offer more value to the chain online and offline. He had us making mental notes and stuff. It was indeed a talk for the walk.

A Quick Photoshoot
Hive logo line.png
As we made our way around the park, young-boss-karin@young-boss-karin and khaleesii@khaleesii sighted a spot and stopped for a quick photoshoot in front of a seemingly Christmas house.

A Song for the Squad

We took a walk and @Khaleesii sighted a man with a guitar and suggested almostsober@almostsober and I did a duet together. To be honest, I was shy because I was unprepared and it was out in the open but soon enough we caught up with the man and before we realized it, we had started singing.

The team hailed us like we were giving a serious live performance with a great audience watching as we sang “Perfect by Ed Sheeran”. The most beautiful part of this was just seeing people I was physically meeting for the first time, support me like they were my Day 1’s. I’m getting emotional right now.

Refreshments and a Revolving Ride
Hive logo line.png
After singing and walking around, we needed to recharge our batteries a bit, so while samostically@samostically went to get snacks, almostsober@almostsober, wildthougts@wildthougts, khaleesii@khaleesii, and I opted for chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla flavoured milkshakes respectively. Our sponsor was none other than our cash madam young-boss-karin@young-boss-karin.

Before our milkshake came, khaleesii@khaleesii opted to go on a revolving ride. It was an experience for us just looking at her go round and round. At some point, she looked like she had given up on it all. It was fun and scary to watch at the same time.

Virtual Reality Games
Hive logo line.png
Upon further dialogue and much consideration on what to do, we settled to participate in VR games and headed to the spot. samostically@samostically played the car racing game with me and moved on to watch seemingly horror virtual clips. Sam got scared at some point and screamed if you touched him. young-boss-karin@young-boss-karin played a shooting game and watched horror virtual clips which instead of the latter making her scared, she laughed her way through. @Khaleesii was a bad-ass shooter while playing her shooting game and seemed rather bored and not thrilled by the seeming horror clips. almostsober@almostsober and wildthougts@wildthougts played shooting games as well and started shooting invisible people. It was a pure cruise to watch.

Suya Eating and Calling it a Day!
Hive logo line.png
After VR, we went to a suya spot, ate suya like a family, laughed and played samostically@samostically’s game, and won coins for participating.

Our meet-up was supposed to last only a few hours but took the whole day. Time indeed flew by so fast and we did not want the day to end. It was purely good vibes, smart people, laughs, fun, and games. It was an out-of-body experience, to say the least.

With love from us 😗

We look forward to making this meet-up a regular thing. But until next time, enjoy some of the fun we had as you go through this post.

Special thanks to my 6-man squad (young-boss-karin@young-boss-karin,khaleesii@khaleesii, samostically@samostically, almostsober@almostsober & wildthougts@wildthougts) who made this meet-up one to remember.

Thank you for reading!
