CONTEXT

In this present version of Rentals which we decided to keep steem payments temporarily working when we made the transition to Hive the priority for paying for rental contracts went in this hierarchy.

  1. HIVE
  2. HBD
  3. STEEM
  4. SBD

STEEM SUPPORT BEING REMOVED

We stopped the ability to add more Steem to the PeakCredits custodial system at the start. But because people still had steem we let paying with it continue and hopefully fade away.

We are going to officially stop supporting the paying of rental contracts with Steem. It is happening very infrequently already.

This is your 1 week notice using steem/sbd to pay for contracts is over in 1 week (though we reserve the right to take a day or two more if things get busy).

We highly suggest you withdraw your Steem and SBD because it will have 0 utility in the system. You can already use Hive right now.

RENTALS 2.0

The backend has not been finished by splinterlands but we have already been looking into how to do the economic system and talks about how to do the UI.

Our goal for OWNERS is to make it so any owner can select hundreds if not thousands of cards and with one click add them all to the rentals 2.0 system. You will be able to make some decisions if you want to fine tune things but many users may decide to do nothing more than add them and it will be fine.

Our goal for RENTERS is to make it so they can quickly click on each monster they want or copy a popular list of monsters and then go to checkout.

Renters and Owners will be able to enter and exit at any time and no more getting stuck into lengthy contracts that at some point are usually not fair for one of the two parties.

Also it is most likely that rentals 2.0 will be entirely with DEC
Also presently we believe rentals 1.0 will continue after 2.0 starts at least until we can see if most if not all cards move to 2.0. We will assess that later.
