CARD VALUES FOR THE INVESTORS OUT THERE
If you're not going to buy sell then you should just buy cards and wait for game play. Our partner @monsterworld has done several posts about how they believe players may be able to compete very well with non-maxed cards.
To the Buyers and Sellers We do not tell you what the values WILL be only show you where the market wants them at right NOW. We suggest any investor into a pre-release/beta project should do their research and try to figure out for themselves... and YES it's very difficult... there is more safety in waiting but more potential value in being in early.
We think the only fair assumption is that by the end of the year we will look back and laugh at the absurdity of the price structure the market had today. Those who do the best to predict that will be the most well off.
GOOD DECISIONS BY STEEMMONSTERS
Neither @PeakMonsters nor @SteemMonsters can force card values to go up and down that's decided by the buyers and sellers. However...
SteemMonsters has done many many things that typically ensure that a market in the long term has an upward price movement, thus benefiting those who bought early and helped make possible a new project. Nothing is gauranteed but these we see as good things
- Limited first set to 1.5 million cards
- Combining cards removes cards from circulation
- Base the value of cards in USD (we're all really happy about this right about now)
- Those alpha cards will not only have more scarcity but it has been stated they will have greater game value (higher XP)
- They will have different art work (different borders)
- They are FIRST EDITION which has always impacted values of cards in Collectible Card Games historically.
- Also presently they won't allow combining of beta + alpha which also many see as a benefit
- SteemMonsters has included a real life benefit to holding the cards... aka the incentive of cash prizes. This is not a given many card games people just play for the fun of it with no cash prize.
- New daily cash prizes have been recently committed to. And it seems they are more and more willing to keep making that number go up.
Note that 30% of 900,000 booster packs at $2 each is roughly $540,000. This number suggests that if Beta packs sell out within a year we can offer $10,000 / week in sponsored prize pools.
JUST A PLAYER?
Again you shouldn't be worrying about the price fluctuations that much... most of them are very low in the market compared to what it would have cost buying packs.
UPCOMING CARDS
As stated in this post by steemmonsters
There will be 5 new LEGENDARY SUMMONERS from a kickstarter promotion that will go into BETA packs assuming they get done in time if not they'll come in the next edition. Also Kickstarter features EXCLUSIVE cards for the dragon splinter only available on kickstarter or buy/sell in market.
Go support the kickstarter if just to buy those cards
All those 74 beta cards plus the 5 upcoming legendary summoners + the 4 kickstarter cards will be available on the peakmonsters market.
For those keeping score that's a total of 83 eventual cards on the market
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF IF YOU BUY SELL
- What will happen to values of cards when Beta cards comes out?
- What will happen to values if a certain group comes out with a fully Korean site?
- What will happen to alpha value when we find out how much extra XP they have over beta?
- What will happen to values when card play starts getting tested in October?
- What will happen to values when tournaments start?
- What will happen to values when another group creates a second game with the cards?
- What will happen to values when the user base doubles or triples or goes up 50x?
On the flip side what happens when kickstarter delivers all the rewards later in october? And what happens when a big holder exits the game maybe needing the money for an emergency? There's plenty of possibilities on both sides of the coin. We really do want you guys to be responsible and thoughtful about this.
Remember our motto is Fast / Easy / INFORMATIVE
It benefits us that you all are successful.
To that note we will continue to come out with tools to help educate you guys and tools for you to analyse the data yourself.
