Winter in the South West of Western Australia is our wet season and we often get some pretty decent storms sweep through. For the last few years we've had pretty mild winters, with not much rain and no real storms... this year though it is like we are making up for the lack of storms in previous years!

We had one forecast to come through, so I headed out to the west coast and set up to photograph the lightning as it came in.

Things got a little hectic and quite an epic lightning storm swept through. I started running when the first drops hit and still got completely drenched. 20 minutes worth of lightning in this photo. Hope you enjoy it.
