Today marks my xxth day of āwork from homeā and we are still on our Phase 1 post-ācircuit breakerā here in Singapore.
I have been thinking that a lot of people are deglamorizing the current measures of the governments around the world. When in fact, itās not that bad ā we get to work from home at our own pace, do regular exercise (taking note of the social distancing), do our groceries and other stuff. What we canāt do is to go outside our houses for leisure time ā this can definitely wait. I understand peopleās frustrations about their canceled flights, plans and such ācause Iām one of them. I was supposed to be home in the Philippines for 2 weeks for my nephewās HS graduation (time flies š), spend summer with the kids (I usually spend March, April or May for a vacation in the Philippines for them), and run errands like my regular dental check, vanity visit to the salon, etc. But yeah, Iām stuck here.
Being on WFH/circuit-breaker never got into my head. I actually enjoy it. (Introverts unite! Separately!) I got more time than I needā¦ to be lazy, to do absolutely nothing, to learn to cook and to prepare food and to actually enjoy it (not rushing for dinner time), to sing and dance in the shower, to start yoga, to write, to upload and share my long overdue photo trips, to be (more) quiet, to binge-watchā¦ name it!
I was constantly asked where will I go after this pandemic. Initially, of course, on top of my head, I said home. I miss my old folks, yāknow.
I didnāt want to think about it because I know I canāt do anything about it, for now.
But for the sake of conversation, I was asked "whatās next after that"?
I shrugged my shoulder.
It got into my head.
I realized that if this thing really ends soon, I want to go home. I want to reach my next travel destination in July.
I opened Skyscanner to check all destinations with cheap flights for July.
But before all this, I already have my eyes for South Asia. I thought I might skip Brunei and Timor-Leste, for now, to complete my Southeast Asia checklist as I donāt think itās worth visiting with its expensive fares.
I saw Sri Lanka and Nepal (and Greece, Japan and Korea š) on top of the options.
Since then, Iāve been browsing a lot of photos, ideas about it, not that I have never done it before. Haha.
I've always wanted to tweet that I canāt wait for this thing to end so I can tick one of my checklists again. But you knowā¦ tipong āgusto kita i-chat pero strict ang pride ko.ā I donāt want to be one of those people who canāt shut their mouths about being impatient.
So, I found myself being busy pinning pins on Pinterest, reading forums on TripAdvisor, browsing sample itineraries, saving inspos, planning, daydreaming, never putting down the phoneā¦ canāt stop now.
Sigh. Canāt wait for this to end.
