Welcome to my first post!
Hi everyone, I’m Paulyn Padua, and I live right here in the Philippines just an ordinary person trying to make the most of every day in this country I call home.
I finished college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, major in English. But life didn’t exactly go straight to what I thought it would be right after graduation. I worked as a cashier at a supermarket for a year, and I also tried the same job at a fast food chain. When I had my first child though, I had to stop working to take care of them, and became a full-time housewife after that.
For a long time, I put my own dreams on hold just to focus on my family. Then in 2025, I decided to take a chance and applied to be an ESL teacher. I really pushed myself hard to get this role because it lets me work from home so I can earn and do what I love, without ever having to be far from my family.
This space is where I’ll share my journey, my little wins, and all the lessons I pick up along the way. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you’ll stay with me as I start this new chapter.
Fast forward to my journey in the ESL world against all my doubts, I actually got accepted , I never imagined I’d make it here and at first I really thought teaching would come easily to me. But I quickly learned how wrong I was. There are days when students won’t pay attention, brush me off, or even answer back. It was nothing like what I expected, but it taught me the most valuable lesson patience really is everything in this job.
I’ve had my hardest moments too like holding my baby close while leading a class, trying to keep my voice steady and my focus sharp. Being a mom while making a living is no joke at all. Ive had to care for my little one and earn for my family all at the same time. Through all the chaos, I’ve learned to multitask better than I ever thought possible, and I’ve grown stronger in ways I never expected. Every challenge just reminds me why I’m doing this in the first place.
Just recently, while I was just casually scrolling through my feed on Facebook, I crossed paths with 
I want people to know that my journey wasn’t handed to me; I took it one brave step at a time. It was never easy, and there were days I felt like giving up, but I always held on to that one saying that keeps me moving forward: “Malayo pa, pero malayo na.” There is still so much more ahead of me, and I know I still have a long way to go but looking back at where I started, I can honestly say, I’ve come so far already
