Nepal arrested around 7 people before when they found them holding bitcoins. All of those people who used to trade bitcoin were compelled to go underground because of this. I was one of them. But today there is a good sign of news today. The news was not extraordinary news like making bitcoin and other coins totally legal but the new is giving us hope.
What was the news about ?
The news particularly talked about Venezuela making their own national cryptocurrency and they are signing treaty with Russina. It is clearly written in news that cryptocurrencies are now changing the world but still it is banned in Nepal.
Why is this news exciting ?
It is exciting because our country had already forgotten cryptocurrencies and this news may bring the eyes of government agencies on cryptocurrency. Ministry of Finance had recently banned cryptocurrency stating we don't know anything about this and it may be bad so we will arrest those who are linked with it.
This new will help our government understand. Our country is small country and is following the international trend. Mostly it follows India and now India is also moving a step closer to legalizing it. Still in India you can say you have bitcoin and survive but in Nepal you will be arrested.
