Put the stud tires on the Ford Ranger yesterday.
Decided to celebrate my accomplishment and go to the store to get a couple Christmas items. Made it about nine miles before one went flat. Called my faithful brother to come and help change tire. I had done to much already and was suffering for it.
Turns out the rim was had rust holes in it. Kind of hard to tell from picture but it is bad.
My neighbor is on the hunt for more rims. Like to be able to switch tires without switching rims.
Back to the Oldsmobile. Since it is running pretty good now I decided to get a couple new tires. Put them on the front since it is front wheel drive. Might need the traction if decides to snow much.
I kept the best two old tires. They still have good tread on them. Should be good until next fall.
Since we have four cars the tire cost can add up quick. Sixteen tires is a lot to replace. If I remember correctly I have bought eight new tires this year. There is three in the house hold that goes to work and a "spare" car is necessary. Don't like the added insurance but as Walter Cronkite used to say "And That's The Way It Is. Thanks for your support.
