I didn't want to miss another #featheredfriday, so even though I am in Sacramento and haven't had any birding time lately, I will at least be sharing some photos that I haven't posted yet...
Corvus brachyrynchus, the American Crow (or AMCR)
Unfortunate how these photos lose quality when they are posted (is there a way around that?). I looked at the timestamp to see when I took these, and apparently it was January of this year. I knew it was wintertime because of the persimmons, but thought it was at least sometime in 2018.
I'm looking forward to another winter. Backyard birding is fun in the wintertime because of the appearance of the white and golden-crowned sparrows, sapsuckers, thrushes, and the yellow-rumped warblers (butterbuttz). The warblers arrived in my area last week, actually, and they seem to be all over the place here in Sacramento too. And of course, I love seeing the large flocks of crows that form in the winter and sometimes visit the house (my mom's house, that is).
