Off we go with another edition of SMAP, and this week we could post whatever we wanted, because it's free theme week!
It honestly made the task a tad more difficult, having to think on what theme to choose! Since I'm posting at deadlines and with crazy work weeks... nothing like some randomness!
Why have I chose these photos? Honestly, no ideia. Some just popped in my mind as i was browsing the archives, others were very recent and still in my memory, some brought back cool memories. Oh well, any reason is valid to post bird photos, right?
Like this one. One of my favourite photos from last vacations, after a bittersweet taste: I went to visit a natural park, hoping for a great birdwatching session at a lagoon that I had visited almost 20 years ago. Well, no more laggon now: completely dried! Glad that bee-eater came along to cheer me up, and with a meal on its beak!
This one belongs to the good memories ones. Birdwatching with good friends in Alentejo, and the second time in my life I've seen this species. Funny as it is, the first time I saw it was just a few km away, visiting those same friends... but almost 10 years ago. Time flies!
And this one, is one of the most common birds in Alentejo. Walking in those huge fields, it's very hard not to hear these little guys. Here, one decided to pose for me as well.
The rice fields of Bali were also a source of good photos and memories. I got busted by the munia, trying to snap photos while he and his friends were busy feasting.
Another one from last vacations: the elegant black kite.
Overlooking Doñana natural park. I normally see them scouting the ground from high above. Here, probably the fact that I was doing a tour in a big truck that they are likely used to see, kept him from flying away. He was probably in a nostalgic moment, perfect for some photo captures.
Leacving with a "quack", from one of my best mallard photos.
A beautiful male, overlooking a partially frozen lake in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Hope you enjoyed some randomness. Let's see what have you came up with! 🙂
