How good does it feel to go back to those places that fill your soul? The ones that ressonate with vacations, friends, rest and good times?
After 3 years that felt like forever, I'm back to one of those places; a small paradise in sw Portugal. Even in peak summer, when most beaches are crowded with locals and tourists alike, we can still find here almost empty beaches... and stunning sunsets.
Knowing some off the grid places helps to be able to get a place to sleep even with short notice. I almost always stay here when I come to this little town. No wifi, and almost no internet data either. But there is nature nearby and a hammock: more than enough!
The scent of the rock roses is all around, especially as you get near the beach; it's one of the scents that immediately makes me think about vacations!
And I won't even start on the food... especially in these little coastal towns, fish and seafood are a must, and the only difficulty is deciding what to get! So, not only you have a beautiful place, with stunning beaches often uncrowded, you can also get delicious and healthy food! It doesn't get much better than this, does it?
Oh... and have I mentioned sunsets?
The only problem? It will end soon: it's just a quick getaway, and in a couple of days I'll be back to my usual grind. But for now, it's time to take advantage of some disconnection of the virtual world, and enjoy the sun, sand and nature's scents.
