Tu voz interior & las voces exteriores // Your inner voice & outside voices

that I can't hear them
my own inner voice.
How many times has this thought echoed in your head? Many times. Countless times. Especially when we are women who fulfill many roles including being a woman with M for mom, everyday life is responsible for the fact that you can be a stranger to yourself. There are so many responsibilities and vicissitudes of life that make us a person who acts mechanically to please the world around us. If we could see ourselves in a video we would realize that most of the day we are fulfilling a series of routine tasks as if by inertia, even without rationing but by obligation forgetting to please ourselves.
Watch out women with M for Mom! Do not misinterpret my words in this edition of my column in @womentribe because there is another truth that I embrace and that is that nothing exists in creation to live for itself. Everything, absolutely everything created by God fulfills a utility, a service function and is what makes sense of the existence of all things, because God did not create anything randomly. Balance is a very important word that I put on the table when I talk about listening to the external voices and the inner voice, our own voice that is overshadowed to the point of moving like puppets fulfilling only the whims of others and not the needs.
It is here, in this other point, where I call your attention woman, you who are mother, but also wife, daughter, niece, cousin, aunt, grandmother, granddaughter, sister, sister-in-law, friend, neighbor, boss, employee, with social and family duties but also with rights. So, the roles and responsibilities with others must be exercised with balance, with rationality so that you can really be functional for others who need you without that means leaving yourself aside to the point of being emotionally abused. The voices of everyone around you demand from you and if you do not know how to manage them they can deafen your own voice, which sooner or later generates a feeling of emptiness, of loneliness.
The good news: The development of flexible thinking has proven to be one of the most positive and powerful tools to achieve good adaptation processes. Adapting does not mean suppressing our needs, our desires and our God-given ability to have free will. Nor does adaptation mean entering into a state of denial of our past experiences or compromising our moral and spiritual principles by accepting the unhealthy customs of society. On the contrary, adaptation has to do with learning to regulate our emotions and feelings and not being victims of circumstances as you may often feel.
Do not refuse to make the necessary adjustments, to recognize yourself and listen to your inner voice, because rigid ideas and thoughts diminish our strength and increase our stress levels. When this is what happens, then this is the signal that suggests that we must change our way of thinking by using flexible and creative thinking which will make us able to change the interpretation of our experiences and promote the control of our reactions, without this meaning to leave aside those around us, hearing their voices but where our own also sounds.
Thus I end my reflection, in this first edition of my column in @womentribe in this month of August to which we welcome with varied spaces for the personal growth of women, where introspection will be among the main topics. I say goodbye dear friends until the next meeting in this space dedicated especially to women with M for mom.
